It got better, but still has some minor flaws – Monster Dash Review

Well, it happened. This game somehow got updated. Some pros and cons about this new Monster Dash. Pros: Graphics heavily updated, but no longer pixelated. Maybe give the user an option to switch between old & new graphics for free? Barry now has an actual voice in the game. Previously, he only made a couple of noises when losing health. Speaking of sounds, they heavily updated those too. These new sounds might be the best part of the update. New costumes! They’re not all free, but it’s nice to have the option. Neutral: Ads everywhere. Why did I say this was neutral? It’s commonplace for Halfbrick games these days, so I wasn’t surprised to see them. Barry is a bit zoomed out too far when playing. This might be slightly better on an iPad. Cons: Some of the old weapons such as Rainbow Cheeks got removed. No idea as to why. Hog missions seem nearly impossible now. Bad design. The biggest problem is WHY CAN’T YOU PLAY OFFLINE?! Even Jetpack Joyride figured that out! This is why it only got 4 stars. Halfbrick can easily make the game play offline (with or without drawbacks). Your save data will be erased upon updating. Is this still a good game? Yes, if you’re able to ignore the new pay-to-win system the game uses. This app with the new update is probably better suited for iPads. Helpful hint: If you have any A5 device on hand or an iPhone 5/iPad 4 dual booted with iOS 7-9 using coolbooter, you can still get the old version of the game.
