Randomly disconnects and missing artwork – iTunes Remote Review

Our music files can be open in iTunes or in Jriver (even simultaneously) to stream around the house. Jriver never has issues with accessing and playing but iTunes regularly gives an error it has no access to a library. If we wait awhile and try again (without doing anything) it usually mysteriously reappears. As to artwork, all our files have embedded artwork that shows up in most iTunes views and on synced devices. It often doesn’t show up in iTunes’s Album view and any artwork that doesn’t show up there also doesn’t show up in Remote. Again, in third party software we have zero issue. We tried deleting the iTunes album artwork folder and relaunching iTunes, forcing it to rebuild thumbnails. It did nothing. One workaround sort of worked: In album view, if we select the first track of an album, click Get Info and close Get Info (even without making a single change) then it will fix the artwork. So, I redid all our albums from A-G. Within a day, after rebooting our computer for other non-problem reasons, most of that artwork disappeared from Remote again. No, Apple, I’m not going to keep resetting devices to factory settings, etc. You need to fix your stuff. I’ve done that enough times and when it usually solves nothing, Apple shrugs and creates a ticket that goes nowhere for months — or they literally tell you to buy new hardware.
