The ultimate iOS instrument – GeoShred Play Review

It’s an instrument in your pocket - if even better on an iPad than an iPhone. It’s an extremely versatile lead guitar made accessible to a keyboardist. It’s a new challenge for mastery, too - capable of delivering on whatever effort you’re willing to invest. Start with GeoShred Play, then go Pro. ROI is there even before mastery. As a heads up and wish list, most patches are only good entertainment, not playable without adjustment, though plenty to choose from. It’d be nice to have them prearranged better to sort the playable guitar-like sounds from the preset arpeggiated sounds, but you can arrange them yourself. I’d like to see the pure acoustic sounds library expanded a bit further - e.g. more focus on some nylon string guitar derived sounds. Deficiencies aside, GeoShred delivers an instrument to a screen, and in a way one could hardly conceive of. There’s no going back to being without it.
