Sounds cool but doesn't work for me – iMotion Remote Review

Have an iPad (1st gen, no camera) & an iPhone 4S & the remote does not connect. I'm using the same network which I know works because I use both my IPad & iPhone as a iTunes remote. I even paid for the upgrade on my iphone for imotion think that may help but nada. Please Help.
