Tacky Ad Situation ? – Pinger: Call + Phone SMS App Review

5/27/20: My sincere thanks for responding to my review! Still, your statement was partly generic. At no time did I say anything about “wanting your ads to disappear.” The problem that I was reporting was the *obstructive positioning* of your ads and the *nature of their content* (for more than a week the same dating fetish ads from one particular company popped up continuously on my screen, to the exclusion of all other ads). Thankfully, the fetish ads appear to be gone now, after a recent update. However, another ad issue persists: after reading a single txt message (and now sometimes before even reading one) a full page ad pops up and takes over the entire screen. This only makes me want to ignore it altogether. So I close the app without reading the content. Update: I checked several times and the ad that blocks out the entire screen most often is one that reads: “Who Are They Messaging?” However, the bottom line is that there really are any number of other ads that pop up and do the very same thing, and the situation has gotten noticeably worse since these types of obstructive pop-ups started. This type of gimmick does not inspire goodwill towards your advertisers, that’s for sure, and constitutes a serious decline in the functionality and quality of the app itself. ——————————- I used to like this app a lot but the recent setup causing an ad to pop up and fill the page immediately after every txt I read or send is excessive and unwelcome. I am also surprised and turned off by the constant presence of ads for what seems like fetish “dating” apps. I can’t see any reason why I should be receiving ads like that on my phone and it makes me want to use this app less - or even rethink using it entirely.
