fun surprise during pandemic – PolyNome: Review

edit May 2020: as much as i love using this app now, i’m RLLY wishing i could just tap and drag each note individually and vertically drag each volume than have to scroll & scavenge thru a sea faders & if the notes somehow show some kind of feedback that the volume change is taking place, that would be cool. ‘Either shown via the SHADE or transparency for each NOTE VELOCITY itself and or the background of each character. That visual representation would be cool because as reading the notes, we have an even finer tuned representation of the beat were focusing on Im trying to look further into this onomatopoeic tiktaktok type language on percussion, but to the average person (who isnt a hardcore musician), again the visual representation would really help universalize the experience for all users This app’s sick nonetheless _____________________________ Edit april 2020 I feel like im learning more about percussion than i thought i knew, but in a lot of funner a way digging around the guts of what patterns are screwing around practicing alien beats lol Im more the synth player, but this app sticks out in a weird liberating way imo Like ive bought drum apps before and they seemed like “just whatever”, but this is giving me a more imaginative yet tangible perspective. My only update suggestion is to somehow make the faders feel more organized, maybe by giving them a flatter gui/shape? That and a “Custom Color Themes” option in settings WikiLinks the app specifically lets u customize all colors and i wish all apps had that function, but the “Dark High Contrast” theme in PolyNome would suffice & would be useful to many being easier on the eyes. v glad i’ve found this randomly and got it? Ive really just wanted a simple metronome for my iwatch at first hah
