Fun game but... – Pet City Review

I love how cheerful this game is with the happy music and the cute animals you get to take care of before they get adopted. The only issue I have is that the game seems to center more on "selling" the pets as if they were toys or board games, instead of living, breathing and dependant animals. Also I noticed the major focus on the money the player gained from selling the animals, rather than focusing the attention more on the value of making sure each animal got a good home and they're taken good care of. On top of that, breeders are purchased for the pet shop in this game. I personally think this game would be a LOT better if it took place in an adoption center/ shelter because there are many other animals in real life that need to be adopted and cared for more desperately than many of the puppies/kittens that are often a product of CONSTANT overbreeding, and animals in the shelters end up forgotten. I understand that pet shops may be more appealing to young children and even adults because the environment seems more happy and lively as opposed to that of shelters. Nevertheless, many people who work in pet shops are actually great people that truly care for animals. But the bigger issue lies within the business of selling living creatures for profit and over-breeding the same animals relentlessly, as opposed to giving homes to those in need. This is a huge issue in society, and I believe something as simple as a phone game can actually help make a difference. If it were possible to be changed, the name could still stay pet city, it would just be an adoption shelter for the same animals instead of a per store, where no "breeders" would be working with the pet store to keep mass producing the product that is cats and dogs and other pets when theres already many that need homes outside of pet stores. I stand firm on this because I love animals so dearly and think people should value animal's livelihoods much more and not see them as a fun toy to just buy and play with that becomes disposable years down the line. The app game itself is adorable and has fun gameplay quality and the pets are cute, I just could not find myself enjoying it at all due to being so distracted by these facts. Thank you and I hope nothing I said was offensive to anyone because that was not my intention. Not enough people talk about this important topic is all.
