Blah – Midnight Mysteries: Salem Witch Trials (Full) Review

I guess I'm in the minority when I say this game was dull. The puzzles were so simple that they didn't capture my interest and some of the moves made little sense. Sure, you can make a game difficult by making the needed object very non-intuitive and illogical, but where is the fun for the player in that. I don't mind an odd usage of an object, in which it takes a minute to figure out how to use it, but it needs to have some aspect to it that leads the player to that A-ha moment. Also, this is a very short game, so if you are hoping for a long, difficult game, you might want to look elsewhere. I did appreciate the fewer hidden object scenes. In fact, I suppose the developers could have made the game longer by throwing in more HO scenes, so I guess I could take away my complaint about the length, since they balanced it out by not throwing in mind-numbing, receptive HOs. Still, I'd rate this one as too dull, and I don't recommend it if you are hoping for a long, complex puzzle game that makes you think.
