How come mods don’t work? But maps do work and it’s free ? – Free Addons - MCPE maps & add ons for Minecraft PE Review

I go into mods and download one then go into my packs and it’s there so I click on it and press activate and it works once I go into my world I chose the evil chest mod and it said to spawn it you make it the same way as a iron golem but I do and it does not work but 5 stars because the maps do work and they are free and epic
