Clock setting and do not disturb – The Clocks: Alarm, World Clock Review

This is a great app but I have a problem. I set my phone on “do not disturb” and still get text, email, etc messages. Appears to be the clock app that’s running in the background which keeps the phone active. Is there a setting for the app that I can use that would work with my “do not disturb” setting ?
