Great tool, needs UI improvements – Metron (Pro Metronome) Review

I was looking for a metronome that would do auto-advancing of tempo and this fit the bill. It can do really complex things with custom beats ala a sequencer if you're practicing a difficult piece of music with various meters and tempos. My needs are not that complex. The biggest thing this app needs is a UI overhaul. The main screen tap targets are very tiny and there is no reason they need to be. Apple HIG suggests a minimum 44x44 tap target and the buttons are smaller than that. They should be as large as possible and possibly have some mechanism for advancing more than a single bpm for a button press (tap and hold for instance). The Play/Pause button should be the largest button on the screen. And how about implementing some gesture recognition? A tap anywhere (not otherwise intercepted by a target) could be used for play/pause. Swipe up/down could raise/lower the current tempo by some fixed amount (determined by a setting). Lastly, I've noticed some bugginess with the beat indicators not functioning correctly with variance being set, and/or adjusting the tempo and/or variance on the fly as it's playing. The indicators get lost and don't animate correctly.
