THE app that had made iPad a unique musical instrument – Geo Synthesizer Review

This is absolutely my favorite app as far as musical instruments go; it has a layout that is intuitive and adjustable, it has an auto-ocatve jumping feature that allows you to do incredibly fast runs and arpeggios, the subtle control options for pitch-bends are unparalleled, the patches that are included sound great, and importing new voices through Samplewiz is a breeze. And these are the more-or-less basic features. Advanced users: Want to have play your other virtual MIDI synth apps via Geo, no problem! And you can adjust the volume levels of the MIDI voice and the Geo voice so you can have both a volume levels you have balanced to your taste. Do you want to explore or express your microtonal inclinations? Geo has you covered! And so much more than just quarter-tones. There are many other advanced features (filter adjustments, FM and harmonics adjustments...), almost all of which can be controlled on assignable performance sliders. All this being said, I will agree with a previous reviewer who said this is definitely not a toy. But hey, if you had never played a guitar before, would you expect to just pick one up and start rocking out? No, of course not! This is a totally new instrument! (Ok, maybe not totally new if you have played around with Mugician) This is an instrument with deep possibilities and, I believe, the instrument which best utilizes the touchscreen interface to date. One last note, before you buy this app read the feature list carefully, it is not a DAW, it is not a sequencer... It is an instrument and a controller and a very good one. I know it is frustrating to not be able to easily integrate the music you produce in various different apps, but with a little patience I believe these types of concerns may quickly become a thing of the past.
