Great Idea, Flawed Execution – Archero Review

When I first downloaded this game with a few coworkers last year, it was something akin to a source of joy. We all shared how we did certain levels and overcome certain bosses. Since then, almost all of the people I know have since uninstalled. There are a few key reasons why: - very steep learning curve past third level (I am on 11, so yes I do know) - pay for gems model and relatively crappy items and boosts in comparison to the opponents in game - random and poorly thought out RNG with useless spinny wheels and poor results (this forces people to either re-roll or hack the game or wait insufferably) - no help guide - everyone is on their own and navigating through reddit to learn while watching youtube cheat videos - esoteric leveling and unintelligent map design, almost forcing you to lose no matter how good you are, regardless. Most of us have spent dozens of hours on each map, only causing more frustration and the idea that we could make a better game on our own - the level up perks are random and often horrible, while lacking in diversity and reward (no I will not keep watching ads) - stupid repetitive events and the same bosses. You guys are thin on creativity for what has so much potential. What happened to co-op? What happened to displaying actual stats of enemies? What happened to FAQs on what some people do to maximize skill builds? There is a reason why Candy Crush and Angry Birds are so successful. There is also a reason why this game is unrealistically difficult and hits a pay wall and forces the most loyal of their player-base to punch their phones or tablets. I hope this review will be taken earnestly and seriously for we are not alone.
