Misinterpreted – Mariam Game Review

Many people believe this game is dangerous, but I honestly don’t see how. I’ve read that this game digs for personal information, specifically your Facebook account, but I haven’t come across anything like that. Maybe it is just because of the choices I’ve made in the game? The most personal thing it’s asked me is the name of the person I love and of the person I hate. It’s just a first name. If you’re suspicious, create a false name. Simple. As for deaths related to this game, suicides are linked to many horror games. Those who are struggling mentally and emotionally are more easily effected by horror games. Fear. Suffering. Pain. These are emphasized in these kinds of games and it can get into our head. We’re just more vulnerable. Right now I’m in a better place, so this game doesn’t effect me nearly as much as it would’ve if I’ve played it a year ago. Like many horror games, Mariam is quite disturbing, so I feel like there should at least be a warning to discourage people suffering with mental illness from playing.
