Needs work. – Makeup Games Girl Game for Fun Review

I gave it two stars because 1.) I like that you can create and customize so many things from hair and makeup to clothing, and 2.) because it’s probably a good game for super young kids. However, I can’t imagine anyone above the age of 10 would get much enjoyment out of it. My issues were: 1.) There aren’t actually “levels”, just different stations like “makeup” and “hair”, etc. I downloaded this thinking there would be different scenarios and different characters as you progressed through the game. There is no progression in this game whatsoever. 2.) The options are literally the most limited I’ve experienced. For example: there are like 10 lip colors and at least 3 of them are different shades of bright pink. No blue, no yellow, no nude, no black. And.. there’s two shades of orange. Really? Lol 3.) the makeup options are weird and not cute. They’re all crazy with doodle like artwork. I would’ve loved to see more fashionable glam looks. 4.) The clothes are mostly cute but, again, there aren’t many to choose from. Got bored real fast. There is only one purse and I found all but one of it’s options to be.. not cute. 5.) there were quite a few glitches/ gameplay issues. I was disappointed to find that there was no level screen, and confused because there’s no real instructions or guide to turn to. This game doesn’t play like the description or the pictures here suggest it does, it doesn’t even have all clothing options pictured here. I couldn’t use the base nail polish to erase the fine point polish I had done on top of it, so you better be precise when adding layers to the nails. The lipstick I chose did not stay on the model. The extra steps of mixing and baking and stuff was pointless, time consuming, and incredibly boring. Then, once I finished I find out my only option is to go back and pick from the same three characters, with the same makeover options, and just do it over. Good for a tiny child, but not for older kids. Overall super disappointing. It’s a great concept with well done artwork, but the options are just too limited and infantile. If you fix the bugs and added a ton more content, you’d probably have a hit game on your hands. Hope this review and the 4.99 I spent helps y’all grow lol.
