Great habit to form – New Gratitude Journal Review

I downloaded this a year ago and stopped using it after few entries. It just didn’t click then. I decided to redownload it again after I told myself that I would form lasting self-care habits, so I’m using it alongside Woebot and Headspace. I’m really happy with how simple and straightforward this app is. I really cannot express how the ease of use makes it easier to form this into a habit. It’s super quick and super easy to write an entry. The longer I use it, the easier it becomes to think of things I’m grateful for. I really appreciate how I’m limited to 6 photos. I think that’s more than enough to sum up the day. I also really appreciate having the numbered bullets. Seeing how many things went right in the day really puts things into perspective (as someone who used to focus a lot on what went wrong). Most of all, I appreciate that there doesn’t seem to be a storage limit of any sort. I hope the developers continue to receive the financial support they deserve to keep running this app and keep the storage situation the way it is. There are definitely a lot of things that could be added to the app, but I think the number of features it currently has is perfect the way it is. I really cannot articulate how much I appreciate its simplicity. Unlike Woebot and Headspace that make use of statistics or goals or streaks, I really don’t feel any pressure to keep using the app or write more than I feel like. I just open the app, write what I’m grateful for, *maybe* add photos if I have any, and I exit the app feeling a little happier every time. Along with Woebot and Headspace, I genuinely feel like I’m forming good self-care habits. I think the only feature that would be nice is the ability to write an entry without an internet connection. Maybe the app could store it locally and sync it once it connects to the internet again? Aside from that, I hope you retain its simplicity, but that’s just my two cents. Thank you to the developers of this app. Despite its slight bugs and glitches, I really think it doesn’t have the rating it deserves. I hope more people discover this app. EDIT: Adding this edit after I had a confusing time trying to change my email and password. I was able to figure it out, but I realized that this app does not seem to have a working website. It may have in the past but I could not find a URL connected to this app that actually loaded as of today. It’s a bit of a red flag to me if the developers can’t keep a cheap domain running. I’ve definitely purchased apps in the past where the developers stopped updating it and it became obsolete. I really hope that doesn’t happen with this app. EDIT 2: It’s been a nuisance since the beginning but lately I feel that it should have been fixed by now. The app is really really buggy with typing. It almost always lags when I first start typing an entry, wherein the keystrokes won’t register immediately and will miss some letters. So the first typed word will appear late and with letters missing. Another issue, it’s always super difficult to try to edit a previous line or word. You have to backspace all the way cause it just doesn’t cooperate when you try to move the cursor. Pressing enter also lags sometimes and makes the previous line repeat in the new line. Hope these can be addressed.
