Microtransactions > Game – Second Galaxy Review

This SHOULD have been an AMAZING game, but they destroyed it by making it centered around a micro-transaction framework, instead of gameplay. Pro: Beautiful graphics, good mechanics, lots of ships, vast open universe. It has all the elements to put it in the “epically amazing” category, but hit a brick wall to make room for the micro-transactions. Which beings me to... Cons: 1.) Micro-transactions!!! Will developers PLEASE find ANOTHER way to make money besides tricking people into spending money on nothing? Make a game good enough to sell, and just sell the game!!! You're destroying the mobile gaming industry with greed and laziness! For instance: just charge $$ to download the game, and then sell story/campaign expansions that include more ships or blueprints you get BY PLAYING THE GAME. “...But that takes creativity and effort!” Yep, and you’ll be left with a work of art you can be proud of, instead of a scam. 2.) The story/campaign ends abruptly, and you’re left with a hand-full of repeating missions to grind. 3.) There is no mercy for you if you happen to get a phone call, need to respond to a text, or just need to put your phone down while playing... no auto save, or idle mode. And if you happen to get hunted down and killed by a player while idle, there is no way to recover your ship (insurance conveniently does NOT apply PVP kills unless you're in a noob zone), so all that money you spent on micro-transactions to get that cool ship is GONE. I know this review will most likely disappear behind a wall of fake/paid reviewer spam, but do yourself a favor and just go play an actual space sim. Looking for an Eve replacement? Why not just go play Eve, or Elite Dangerous? They’re all way cheaper than the micro-transactions needed to progress in Second Galaxy, and WAY more fun.
