Wish it would just WORK – Elgato Screen Link Review

The concept and idea behind this is amazing, but it feels as though elgato just “came up with a solution” threw something together half way and said, YUP THATS GOOD. The software does not work on any platform (OBS/Streamlabs OBS, or even the Elgato software! Lol what?) I was excited to test this out and use my iPhone XS Max as an additional webcam or even just a better capture device for things I do on my phone. In concept, downloading and set up is insanely easy. I installed the app on my phone as well as the 4K capture software on my PC, but upon trying to connect my phone to the capture utility the only thing that popped up was “searching for capture device” I made sure both devices were on the same 5g WiFi, made sure everything was up to date, and even tried uninstalling everything a few times. But the same thing popped up every time in OBS/Streamlabs/Elgato capture. I would highly advise anyone trying to use their phone as a webcam test the free version first to make sure you can actually get a connection before paying $10 for something that does not work.
