Wanna make some $$$? Run the other direction! – Gigwalk Review

I’ve made decent money using several similar apps, so figured I’d give Gigwalk a try. And here I am, now—after only a single gig—angry-typing this review so I can move this hot mess into the trash where it belongs. My first job was auditing a Google display in the SmartHome section of Home Depot. Yay! I like Home Depot things! And SmartHome things! And Google is pretty rad, too! So I accepted the gig, drove my tiny car through the icy December rain, and pulled up into the Home Depot lot. As is normally the case, I was only able to see the specific steps for the gig after arriving. Cool. Start gig. Check. Take a picture of the store front. Check. Go inside the store. Check. Find Smart Home display. Check. Find Google Sonos One demo display. Bzzzzzzt. Oh—by the way, Gigwalk says. This display expired in November, Gigwalk says. We know it’s December, so you probably won’t find it, lol. And since it probably doesn’t exist, you’re not gonna get paid. Hope that’s ok. Good luck and have fun!!! Wow, Gigwalk. Hi. Just to fill you in a little bit here: if the display you want isn’t where you want it to be, that is NOT the auditor’s problem. That’s the entire point of an AUDIT. I’m real sad for you that it’s no longer November, and that it’s Google Nest December, and all that’s left of Sonos is a tiny cardboard display in memoriam. But not THAT sad, because I did my part of the job, so I should get paid. Right? Right? Well, I submitted the gig explaining why I should get paid, but Gigwalk did not agree with me. I suppose I’ll take myself and my little car over to other apps like Field Agent and Mobee, who don’t send people on a hunt for imaginary products, and still pay if a search doesn’t yield the desired results. So actually, I’m sad for you. ??‍♀️ Until then, Gigwalk—do better.
