Energy system – Is It Love? Drogo - Vampire Review

I downloaded this game as a joke. A simple joke. But, as the story progressed, I began getting slightly more interested in the plot. I mean, thinking about it now, though, I’m willing to bet it’s probably a pretty basic and overused plot. But aside from that, the game starts as a fan fiction would; you’re starting college in the POV of a girl who just moved to a university. You manage to get a job in a mansion where you can care for a child as a nanny while being provided food and shelter or whatever. You experience strange encounters with the vampire dude that lives there named Drogo and you get to choose how the story progresses. So, I was pretty intrigued and I was kind of like “meh, wouldn’t hurt to take the game a little more serious.” That was dumb. Because once I invested myself into the plot, BOOM, I was awarded with the notification that I couldn’t play any longer due to the fact I ran out of energy. Apparently you need energy to progress and within each section of the game you lose energy. Each day, you get 300 energy, which isn’t nearly enough especially if you’re a fast reader. Other than the energy you earn as a daily reward, you can’t get energy without paying real money. To get even the smallest of energy packs, it costs I think 3.99 or 2.99. I didn’t let this stop me at first and I used the bonus that the game gives you when you first join. I was able to get through quite a bit of dialogue and story, until I ran out of energy yet again. I was getting slightly annoyed but I was determined to read more so I bought the smallest energy pack offered. I was able to play another section but it ended on a suspenseful note, which is so frustrating. The notification popped up again saying I was out of energy and not only that but it told me my payment didn’t go through properly and that I’d have to do verification and contact the developers. I exed out of all of that and decided not to waste anymore money or time on the app. I didn’t even get through the beginning without having to pay. Overall, this app could be really successful if the game itself costed a couple bucks for the whole story and had maybe a couple in app purchases for removing ads or something. Otherwise, I don’t recommend this app if you’re impatient and you read fast. Unless you have money laying around you want to spend, I suggest not getting invested in the plot too soon and regretting it soon after. Until this game improves with the whole energy thing, I’m probably not going to re-download it. 3 stars for the plot and curiosity it sparks in you, minus 2 stars for the energy system issue. Thank you for reading.
