My favorite repeated motif app – iOrnament: draw mandala & art Review

Of the dozens (over one hundred?) of art and photography apps I have tried over many years, this one quickly became my favorite and there it has remained ever since its earliest iterations. Also this has so much depth and variety of tools and features that it is worth every dollar asked for it. I would pay even more than the creator of it asks, comparable to the cost of a great book, or a high end luxury magazine. It is the gold standard of all and it is clear the creator has dedicated thousands of hours in its creation, maintenance, development and updating. What do I love about it? As an artist and graphic designer, I use it practically every day. I mainly use it for creating personalized digital designs for birthdays and anniversaries and condolences, but I also hope to begin fabric designing and logo designs too. The app offers far more than I even use. INCLUSIVE: great for all ages from little children drawing with their parents to senior citizens in of many decades. One can doodle for a few seconds and instantly beauty shines forth from the screen. Even the least artistically inclined people of all ages to discover the joys and beauties of a few seconds of doodling. Folks of most all physical abilities can enjoy it. People from every corner of the world take delight in using it, and the things that often divide us from others, like politics, and religion, are irrelevant in this community of creators. We are all starting from the common desire to create. GREAT POTENTIAL: if one really wishes to draw complex repeated designs, there are hundreds if not thousands of facets to consider and implement with this app. This app has depth and breadth to it for the most demanding artists. It is not quite limitless, but almost. The things it aims to offer, it does so extremely well. There are a few little things which I cannot do so I turn to other apps for that, but even we humans have our own limitations too. IOrnament has so many moving parts, so to speak, that even after many years of using it, I am still discovering more tools and tricks to using it. EDUCATIONAL: while I myself am not a lover of mathematics, this app is by a professor of that subject so it is natural that if one wishes to learn more about the mathematics behind repeated motifs, one can in this app. So three cheers for this fabulous app, and the creator of it! Five stars from this discriminating artist!
