A revolutionary classic – Kingdom Rush Tower Defense TD Review

I was first introduced to kingdom rush around 5 years ago. I was in elementary school and looking for things to do online. Naturally, flash game sights such as Armor games, Kongregate, and Cool Math Games were the common destination of my mouse. While browsing armor games I came across kingdom rush with a bear perfect score of 98. I started playing and fell in love. 5 years later I rediscovered this gem while browsing for games on a long car trip. I was once again pulled in to its addicting gameplay and charming art style. These two cannot be emphasized enough. Without the charming art style kingdom rush loses credibility and fails to stand out. And of course, a game will never be good without solid gameplay. I really like the way Ironhide has modeled their kingdom rush saga. Offering kingdom rush for free is essential as it introduces new players to the series. It doesn’t stand to make money on its own, but rather to bolster the series. I applaud Ironhide for not becoming too greedy. It’s refreshing to find a free game that is really free. It seems like every mobile game is trying to shove in app purchases down your throat and ads in your face. It is because of this that the kingdom rush saga has a legacy of quality that cannot be understate. Every penny you spend on the other games is worth it. Finally, kingdom rush is a game that changed tower defense for the better. It’s easy gameplay and unique art style makes it accessible, charming and timeless. I have yet to see a tower defense game to match the quality of kingdom rush (Though Bloons could be considered larger and therefore more successful). Overall there are very few flaws with this game, and they can all be overlooked. While one might wish for more content or different levels, they can simply play the other games in the saga. I 100% recommend this game.
