What customer service?? – trivago: Compare hotel prices Review

I experienced an issue while attempting to make a reservation through Trivago which lead me to Otel.com I received an “error occurred while processing your payment” but yet there were 2 pending charges on my credit card. I was forced to wait in “chat support” for 30 min because neither Trivago nor Ortel.com have toll free numbers to speak to someone directly. In fact, Trivago’s help center clearly states “While we’d love to help, the best way to resolve any of the above-mentioned issues is to directly contact the booking site.” For those of you who don’t know what above-mentioned issues are, it applies to “double booking, your refund hasn’t arrived in your account yet or there was no reservation upon arrival at the hotel.” So to be clear, if you’ve been double booked, haven’t received a refund or don’t have a place to stay.....be prepared to “chat” about it.
