Still charging after cancellation – Hooch - One Drink A Day Members Only Cocktail App Review

This app was not good, but the last action from hooch meant it was time for a review: MONTHS after canceling, I randomly started being charged again, which I only noticed after seeing my credit card statement. For an app and founders that boast payment technology, I have trouble believing this is an ‘error’. App reviews about being mischarged or having money disappear from the account have been present with this app for YEARS. Why haven’t they been fixed? While there’s little info available on the companies financial position, the number of revenue streams this app tries to offer you that are hardy related to a free drink suggests they’re not getting enough cash from subscriptions alone. And they keep your credit card information even after you’re done. The other reasons it deserves 1 star: - MOST bars on the app in my major metro area have never heard of Hooch. Some don’t honor it. No bartender I’ve met likes it. - UI is not intuitive - the app glitches 1/2 the time - there is SO MUCH fine print on buying a drink. - there is not a clear way to tell you’ve cancelled - customer service is sub standard.
