Search for NAS doesn’t find hardwired NAS on network same as WiFi is on. – DS file Review

Is frustrating since IP address changes. Have to log onto my Windows laptop. Log into NAS. Get its IP address. If Windows laptop on WiFi can find the NAS why can’t an app on iPhone on same WiFi network?
