Great exercise, terrible iPad app, too intrusive – Activ5 Training App Review

After toying with this in the App Store and having fun with it, I decided to get one for myself, little did I know that you have to register yourself with the company and share all kind of private information with little workaround. After disabling all notifications, location tracking etc., I hoped to give it a try on my iPad to discover that the app is unfortunately programmed for use in portrait orientation. I am simply surprised that in 2019 such a basic UX mistake was allowed to pass any quality inspection. Never mind that the company supplied a cheap old plastic stand for your device. The sort of thing you would receive at a trade show. It doesn’t hold an iPad. The most frustrating however is that I feel this app is not secure when it comes to privacy.
