Some potential but could be improved – Lingvist: Learn Languages Fast Review

Downloaded this the other day to brush up on my Spanish. While it's a decent vocab review tool, I've got some gripes. One is that repeatedly drilling the same sentence is not really the best way to learn a given word, since you can start identifying the word based on recognizing the sentence. I can see that there are multiple sentences for some, maybe all words, so I'm not sure why it doesn't rotate between those rather than require you to change it yourself if you want a different sentence. Another thing that bothers me a lot is inconsistency in spelling accuracy requirements. It's annoying to miss a question because of a typo, but it's even more aggravating to miss one because I put an accent where I didn't need one, knowing that I wouldn't have been penalized if I left an accent off of a word that needed it. Basically if you're going to be strict about spelling that should be consistent, it feels weird to have an incentive to never do the accents ever. If I miss the accents I need to review that word at least as much as the one I typed too fast. The last thing I'll talk about is the word limit. I got to try the week trial of unlimited and it was a little silly to be told to slow down if I did too many questions in a day. But the new word cap at twenty in free is pretty brutal. The thing that bugs me the most is honestly that it makes it impossible to do the in-app goals of 50 questions in a day (unless you're doing all review I guess?) Being unable to meet the only goalposts in the app is just demoralizing, and makes it feel like there's not much point to anything in free mode. Which doesn't really motivate me to upgrade to unlimited, because the week of free unlimited didn't make me feel like I got access to any cool extra content. It just made me feel like I could use the app, and like now I can't.
