Paywalls – Mighty Quest For Epic Loot RPG Review

I’ll start by saying that the gameplay is top-notch and addictive, the visuals perfect. Easy, fluid, and fast to get in and out of adventures and trials. Wonderful pocket arpg, probably one of my favorite mobile games of all time. However! Once you start getting better gear (which is surprisingly easy) and getting into higher difficulties, the game gets immensely bogged down by paywalls. On hard difficulty (2nd of 3), around act 6 you can do maybe two or three castles per session before depleting your energy, even if you have a decently high level of say 19 or 20. The trials and the arena are the same way. Combining the somewhat limited content with this many paywalls makes for a game that basically forces you to quit playing just when you get invested. The prices on the microtransactions? Absurd. I bought the season pass just to support the ongoing development of the game but I won’t pay a cent more until next season. Easy up on the paywalls and microtransactions, people!
