Enjoyable but tapping gameplay has issues. – Godzilla Defense Force Review

As a lifelong Godzilla fan, this game definitely appealed to me. Its a lot of fun seeing all the monsters and the gameplay is pretty addicting. Although after a while the fun factor just didn’t completely sustain. Like many people have said, having to sit through a lot of ads becomes tedious, especially when you hit a wall with a difficult boss. I feel like I spend more time watching ads than actually playing the game. Then I remember that this is a game all about tapping your screen. There are two issues I want to bring up with that. The first is not really an issue but more of an observation, there isn’t a whole lot of strategy to this game. It’s just tapping the screen, which does make the game very repetitive and doesn’t add a whole lot of replay value. The main issue I have with the tapping is the consistency. When you tap the screen, it doesn’t always register. I’ve only seen this when you are trying to save civilians. I see a civilian and tap them to save them, but it doesn’t count. I’m tapping the screen repeatedly but it’s not working right away. This is especially annoying when you are fighting a kaiju, a civilian pops up but when you tap the screen it doesn’t register, forcing you to multitask. Am I not being precise enough when I tap the screen? That’s one of the biggest flaws with this game for me. If that was fixed that would be good. While I play this game everyday, I honestly spend more time now watching ads than actually playing the game in order to get more money to build up my defenses, but that still isn’t enough when you’ve hit a wall. Having to reset the whole game whenever you hit a wall takes the fun out of the gameplay. But at the end of the day that’s all the gameplay is, just tapping your phone screen.
