Now with a monthly subscription – Manga Rock Review

Now in order to remove ads and be able to save manga for offline viewing you've got to pay a *MONTHLY* subscription of $5. This is an app that pulls scanlations from other sources and drops series that have been licensed (you can actually find some of those through the Manga Rock website instead). I feel like a one-time fee for the app "to support the app developers" is fine (was honestly about to get the premium version for just that, but then I updated and this happened... and it's a good thing I didn't pay anything before updating because it seems that people who had already paid for premium are now seeing ads). I haven't left a review on an app in so long, but I felt like this needed to be bright to attention. This is a good app if you can look past the tremendous amounts of ads and shady/inconsistent practices, and last night I honestly would have rated it 5 stars, however, I'm not happy with what they're doing now.
