Works exactly like expected and extremely helpful – Toyota Key Finder Review

Easy to set up. Solid user interface. Bluetooth based as expected. This is a HUGE plus for me, having dealt with bone marrow cancer and successful chemo since December 2007. The chemo has impacted my memory and focus some. I lose track of my keys and much more. Anyone who understands bluetooth knows there is a range limitation. Anyone who takes time to understand the application knows how to interpret the range and proximity feature. They will watch the feature when activating to find keys. If the keys are out of range, you just flat out have to think through where they might be, move there and attempt to pair again. This is normal behavior for bluetooth. I have to pair my Nikon D-850 with four different Apple devices. No big deal. Just hope your keys didn’t end up in a mud-pot at Yellowstone. I ran a few quick tests. With my keys on gravel, under a tarp on the ground; my 2019 RAV4 Hybrid between myself with iPhone - range was about 50 feet. With no objects between key-finder and iPhone range was 89 feet plus - length of my back yard. Didn’t feel like jumping the fence. Good enough for me. The alternative to Bluetooth would be GPS. Sure Toyota could put together GPS unit - but figure the cost would be equivalent technology to my Garmin Fenix 5X at $750 and cost more at that due to R&D cost to unit sales ratio. At that public GPS is not that accurate. GPS for scientific research does have the accuracy: < .25 inches. That value is from 2005. Probably much more accurate now monitoring for example - tectonic plate shift. I gave it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for good reason.
