No Ableton Start Stop Sync Support – Launchpad - Music & Beat Maker Review

When a beat is playing, your only option for stopping is to: 1) press the stop button on the app’s UI; or 2) manually turn off each pad one by one (if you’re using Novation hardware that interfaces with the app.) Ampify needs to update Launchpad with Ableton Start Stop Sync...yesterday. This feature has been long requested. Instead, they update it with useless MIDI clock features which is pointless when the app already has Ableton Link. If only its developers could update the Link SDK to include the Start Stop Sync feature. This is a very simple request. Apart from this, also disappointing is zero MIDI control without Novation hardware. This is especially frustrating when using Novation hardware through an Audio Interface as the hardware is then not recognized by the app. Would be far more ideal (and “modern” in the iOS music making environment) to be able to specify a “MIDI source” in the app settings — and then maybe developers can even give it some MIDI learn: for launching the pads, controlling vol/pan, triggering fx, and of course start/stop (in addition to Ableton Start Stop Sync.) Unfortunately as it is now, it’s just not a real music making tool without these basic controls. With no Ableton Start Stop Sync support and limited MIDI control/compatibility, I will be moving on to other apps whose developers seem to better understand musicians’ needs. I own the accompanying Launch Control hardware and have more than 2 years of projects stored in the app (not to mention several IAP.) Pretty disappointed.
