a bit boring – Star Wars Blu-ray: Early Access Review

the app functions well but there is not much meat to it. fans of the original trilogy will recognize all the footage / interviews / concept art / etc . . . nothing new and shiny as most of us were all hoping. If this is any indication of what is to come in Sept with the blu-ray release i feel most fans will be disappointed. One interesting note - in the Concept Art Gallery of Episode VI we are shown a matte painting of Tatooine with the Flacon and a X-Wing fighter visible in the distance. This image has been around for a long time - most fans will remember seeing it here and there through out the years. The odd thing is the tagline. Up until this point this image has been included with the deleted sandstorm scenes after the confrontation on Jabba's Sail Barge . . . but now is it associated with the "new" deleted and "found" scene of Luke making his lightsaber. Looks like Lucas is going to add the new scene (or maybe just add it to the delete scene sections) BUT is not ever going to come clean about when it was actually shot. Mark Hamill originally claimed he did not film the scene but now (after Lucas had a little talk with him) he "remembers" filming it. Either way - this matte painting is now being used to "prove" that the scene really was filmed back in '82 despite the lack of any real evidence (no behind the scene images have come to light which is odd since this is one of the most photographed productions in history). Anyway - the app is free and functions well - just no real content to it
