F2P western player perspective, July 2019 – OVERHIT Review

I first picked this game up based solely on the graphics. Throughout the game the aesthetics are quite beautiful. In that regard Nexon did well. I eventually uninstalled after a month of mostly enjoyable play. That being said, here are some issues/suggestions for improvements to make an overall better experience for players. 1: No matter how beautiful the graphics are, nobody wants to watch the same 5-8 second skill animation over and over again. Even worse, they use up a substantial amount of the allotted time to kill bosses. Perhaps a disable option? 2: Not being able to target in combat. This would drastically improve gameplay and tactics. PVP is needlessly frustrating as a result. I ended up uninstalling mostly due to this uninspiring combat system. 3: The character level uncapping system is not a fun experience. I’m fine with extremely low rates. In fact the elusiveness of a character or two can keep me playing a game for a long time. The problem with Overhit is that even *if* that one desired character is summoned, it will actually take 5 more copies for them to be considered useful. Unless you're willing to put in $500+ to do so, that new unit will end up sitting in your roster at lv 40 forever while the common characters push meaningful content. This is similar to FEH’s +system, except that the amount of stat difference between lv 40 and 65 is too much. 4: Cosmetics with stats is a serious issue for Western gamers. This practice will kill a game every. single. time. Please stop doing this! If outfits are well done and beautiful, people are going buy them for the new look even if it doesn’t make the unit better.
