Random hero summoning spoils an otherwise good game – Langrisser Review

I’m a huge fan of the Langrisser series and was excited to see this come out on mobile. The gameplay is fun and challenging, but the completely random nature by which you are able to obtain higher rank heroes is what did in this game for me. There’s absolutely no way to get them other than to hit that summon button and pray. In the early game you’ll be earning lots of vouchers and crystals so this won’t seem like an issue, but as the game wears on and the crystals dry up, and you need those 1 or 2 heroes that will complete your faction you’ll start to feel it. After saving every scrap I had to summon on a Leon banner, then again on a Cherie banner, and getting neither of them, I decided it was time to call it a day. Not that I had spent much $ to that point, a couple of the cheap one time purchases, but there was no sense in throwing another dime into the summoning slot machine. Folks who have gotten great heroes from f2p summoning will tell you the game is fantastic, mostly because they were able to grab Leon. But there’s plenty of players out there who got garbage on their summons that aren’t happy. Langrisser will show you why loot crate games are banned in several countries.
