Educational and calming – Spot the Dot Review

I am a speech therapist and also a mom of a kiddo with sensory processing disorder. Let me comment on how well it works with my little boy. The first time he played he was so intrigued he repeated the book 4 times. The narration and sounds are very soothing and the visuals are very captivating. He is drawn to this app (probably a combo of the sounds and visuals!) He knows his colors but he still loves to spot the dots in the different scenes (he loves the one that looks like a flash light). I think this app is great for the sensory kiddos out there to calm and sooth them (take it on car rides or while in waiting rooms). I have also used this app in speech therapy with language delayed kiddos and kiddos with sound errors (especially my little ones that have final consonant deletion....the phrase "spot the dot" has great targets for "end sounds") This app really encourages great language like "where is it?" "I see the red dot" "Its hiding!" This app has really encouraged verbalizations/reactions. ( I got alot of smiles and "oooooo" "ahhhhhhs"). I also used it with some kiddos with Autism and I think it had the same affect on them as it did on my son with SPD. Overall a beautiful app that is great for a variety of kiddos. Let me say I will use this app with my little nephew (almost 2) to learn his colors as well :) Thanks Ruckus for a wonderful and useful app! I will be adding you to my app list for SLPs.
