This COULD have been a nice utility... – War Room 2 Review

Companion apps for board/war games have been a slowly growing trend over the last couple years and, in theory, they’re a truly essential thing to have. Forget memorizing stats and throw out notebooks filled with army lists, rules, and other scribbles - it’s all digital now and easily accessed and viewed, getting you into the fun faster and easier... Well, that’s what this app COULD have been. However, Privateer Press - like Games Workshop - has decided to take the nickel and dime path. Sure, the app is free as is the stat cards for starter box models, but if you want to have access to the stat cards for anything else you better be willing to cough up $9 a faction. Which means having the cards for all factions of Warmachine will cost you $45...and another $45 if you’re into Hordes as well. It’d be nice if actually purchasing a model box gave you a code to “unlock” that unit in the app but no, PP wants that extra money on top of the money spent to actually buy their physical products.
