Loved it until the cost – Homework App Review

I was totally loving this app for the last month I had it! It was easy to use and incredibly helpful. I put in my entire syllabus into it and I don't have to worry about checking anything again. BUT THEN I realized I missed something on my syllabus due in a month. No big deal, I would just go to insert it but NO. When I went to insert it, it told me that suddenly I had to pay 5.99$ to be able to insert tasks more than a week away. What?? You suddenly charge me money for the service I've been using for a month? This app is now worthless to me, I can't be putting in tasks every single week. This app is great, but not 6 bucks a month great. Edit: I have since given in and actually PAID for this app. I still like the app but lowkey salty I have to pay. But now every time I open the app, it shows a full-screen advertisement that I need to pay for premium! I already bought it!! Now I still get ads that tell me to buy premium? I mean these are big, full screen ads you have to close out of to use the app! What is going on??? Further edit: it’s now been about 6 months since I paid. Full screen ads have gone away. So now I am actively giving these developers money, but I’m discovering more bugs every day. For example, I add an assignment about 20 days into the future. No big deal, it adds it fine. But if I need to change the due date on that assignment, I go to edit it, and suddenly I can’t change the due date! There isn’t even a scroller wheel for me to change the date, there’s NOTHING. So I have to delete the assignment every time I want to edit the date. There was an “update” that changed the UI a little bit, and actually TOOK AWAY force touch from the assignments! You used to be able to force touch the assignments to edit them, but now you have to do a long press...? Where’s the forward thinking in that? I use force touch all the time. Look. This is a good app. It’s simple to use, and it has a very easy to work with interface. But I can’t help but feel like the developer used this as some class project and just kind of stuck with it. If we are paying the egregious 25$ or more per year to use this service, then I expect a seamless experience. Let me be clear: if this app were completely FREE with all its features, then it’d be the best app on the market. You’re halfway there. Take some time and release an update that will make this app worth while, that will encourage me to say really awesome things about it. It’s ALMOST there, but the things that are AMOST there seem pretty flippin important, and aren’t running well. I’m paying MONEY for this. Also, what’s this garbage about needing an internet connection to run the app?? Why on earth is this data not stored locally?? I want to check my assignments whenever I want, not just when the developer gets to see all my assignments that are stored in the cloud somewhere. Why do I need a service connection???? I only use this app instead of TickTick because TickTick is so much more expensive...but has a much, much better user experience. I may switch to TickTick once my yearly subscription to this app is up.
