Needs balancing – World Hockey Manager 2024 Review

I gonna start with I love hockey and I’m really trying to love this game. I’ve just started playing over the past couple weeks and it is hard to judge the inns and outs of the game itself as I’m just about to make qualification to the next league. But since the most recent update I feel like I have noticed a difference in gameplay. Now while there is no direct input on gameplay and is mainly a dice roll depending on stats, I have noticed that whether or not you train your players for that day directly influences whether or not your team is going to win against teams you greatly out match. I lost six games in a row whilst spending cards to keep my teams energy and morale at max against teams I should have easily beat (barring a couple matches). But once I finally trained my players for the day I won 10 games in a row all against the same team socially easily matched and got the achievement for the season. I feel as though it’s broken and you should fix it. Training players should not directly influence whether or not your team does well against other teams in the short term. A minor grape would be the post game rating system for your players. I would much rather see actual stats as in goals scored, assists, a plus/minus, that kind of thing rather than a number rating which means absolutely nothing to me. I assume better game animations are in the works as more updates come out. Small annoyance that in a shootout both teams are shooting on the same goal. And in normal gameplay if the animation shows no pass it’s pretty much guaranteed a save but animations with passes between players are goals. Always. It would also be nice if there were more things to do between just waiting for timers to go down. I find myself wanting to play games but with no incentive especially if the next thing is a league game to make sure I’m at top form for. And since the update I haven’t been able to watch a league game play out. It just shows a blank rink and no line stats and I have to close the app and wait for 20 minutes to get my results. I think that’s about it. I’m gonna keep playing and hopefully things get sorted. This is one of the only apps I wouldn’t mind sinking a bit of cash into but I’m gonna have to wait to see if y’all balance more of it out. Wasting my time is one thing but I’m not gonna waste time and money. So yeah, shorten some upgrade and analyze times too, jeez. I know that’s a lot but I hope ya take it to heart.
