Criticisms of this ‘port’ are unfair and inaccurate – Dragon's Lair 30th Anniversary Review

This is one of the best ports o have ever seen. I don’t know why the one mega neighsayer said the timing was bad. As I recall, the arcade machines were just as bad, highly persnickety and this is a faithful reproduction of that it seems. It also depends on the speed of your hardware somewhat how lagging sync issues can be and what you have in the background sucking up processor time. I found it as playable as the arcade except I’m more fond of an actual joystick. The video is one of the cleanest and clearest renditions I have seen of this game and I’ve played it on almost every system I’ve owned. The non arcade booth facade gameplay is better and I’m not sure yet what difference is between arcade or home version but there are lots of different options and combinations thereof to try. It’s a very faithful rendition. It may be a tad bit better than the previous gold standard DVD video version which was until now the most complete best looking version I had played. Glad to see an old favorite from the magical era of laserdisc make a combative. Now if someone oh someone would just please put out Cobra Command and that other hyper realistic looking space game that game out during that same game era.. I’d be really really happy about that. Two awesome games completely disappeared. They were more fun than Dragon’s Lair in my book.
