Station – SimpleRockets Review

** update ** The below review was true till I started to learn the tricks to addd more than 1 Dock Plugs & stuff....now I am getting the hang of it...really tricky. I wish there a way to turn off orbit text...makes it hard to see vehicles...but that’s minor compared to not even getting Vehicles to orbit without explosions. Great game...changed from 1* to 5... ***update** I’ve played Space Agency.......Spaceflight simulator...and others getting to build at least the start of a station....which is something like 2 solar...4 batteries...rcs on the station and usually at least 3 connection docks minimum...and 2 ion drives....plus a section that has a rocket to move the station &/or the rocket separately from the station....and no game like this is any where near as complicated as this game. Only 1 station connection can be made with the station I’ve been trying.....and heck I still can’t launch past 10k height. The rubber like connections for the side connectors make things unbelievably difficult to space things out. Plus no #’s on rocket power, fuel levels, or weight values. I’m so close to giving up after 4 days with hours of trying every day. Lack of fairings &/or struts to keep the rockets from being so rubbery sure is a step...into the not simple. Moving around and zooming on the rocket construction area is more difficult than any other game I’ve seen like it..or any other software since before the year 2000...and the lack of settings to have more grid squares also helps make things the most difficult that I can think of...the dang side panel blocks parts unless building that section last. Why this game has side connectors I only assume is for more explosions...otherwise they look near useless. Even with only 2 stages and no side boosters the rockets still can’t stay side by side..it’s like building rockets of jello....really? Yes. I could do this simple station in 10 min or less on any other game like it.... It’s too NOT SimpleRockets...it’s getting to look to be ToodamnNOTSimpleRockets!! In my perspective. Well I did it...no not what I wanted. I didn’t try for the full station I wanted. I just did everything except the extra rocket...it took 37 each super sized fuel sections & super size rockets...rcs...too much rcs...usually I only use rcs after reaching apoapsis or when I’m close (in other games to a stable orbit (but not close for this game) to a complete orbit this launch took close to 50% rcs and I have enough force to take me to apoapsis...but I still need to set orbit or I’ll crash. What? Now that I passed the stage for my ion rockets I can’t restart them? ....that’s it I have to 1 * this junk game. Also please rename the game to difficultrockets so others know before attempting to play. ...going on 6 days trying to launch the start of a basic station...no luck...I’ve gotten to apoapsis....but so little fuel left to establish a stable orbit I had to quit....8 days now. I should delete this lame game for good...every time I think hey maybe this will do it...and nope. Omg on the 8th day I got the almost a station up. No extra rocket. ....I still have 1/2 fuel and around 90%rcs....with apo-hight of 165 and peri of 118.....shouldn’t take much more to get the orbit more stable. ...still omg it’s like jello rockets!! I did finally manage using side booster disconnectors also...man they are so complicated though and you can’t tell what fuel is what...it only displays main fuel...no side booster levels. ....common way too difficult!! OMM!! It’s impossible to cycle through stages to allow for reigniting engines? Yep I am sure it’s undoable as is. This game is unplayable. At the least it should be possible to cycle trough stages after getting out of atmosphere...which would allow turning on and off things...at the most it should be possible to rearrange the existing stages....plus’s to all the other problems of the game. What a promising game that’s way to difficult in almost every way. I’ll check back for updates weekly or until something better comes along...like SpaceAgency 2. I’m done trying to play as is...I give up.
