Fun Game, But...... – Star Defender 3 Review

This is a Fun game but there are some issues I find very annoying! You start out the game with a ship that has a weak primary weapon, and as the game progresses, power ups are available to increase the power of this weapon. However, every time you get hit, it knocks the weapon strength back one level. If you happen to get this weapon knocked backed to zero, you blow up and get killed. If you have another ship left, then you reappear with the same stupid pea shooter you started the game with, plus all secondary weapon units you collected are lost!!! On later, advanced levels this a total pain!! You could have 10 ships stock-piled, and if you lose one, figure on losing at least another one or two ships!!! Also what's up with the stupid level 7 weapon??? Feels weak, only one shot instead of 3. I know, it's supposed to hit all enemies in the shot's path, but it still feels weak. Then there are the secondary weapons. I was disappointed that you can only have one secondary weapon at a time. The problem with this situation is that if you collect say 400 of your favorite type to prepare for the boss battle, like the homing laser, then you accidentally pick up the dumb straight standard missile, then poof!!!! All 400 homing lasers are thrown in the garbage??? ARGH! Thank youuuuu!!! There is also a bug in the game. Sometimes the serpentine boss appears with no tail! Normally, in order to kill this boss you must shoot the tail sections one by one. But if there is no tail you can't kill it! This still is a fun game and I enjoyed playing it, but I would like to be able to collect more than 1 type of secondary weapon at a time and be able to switch weapon types.
