Overkill on in-app purchases – Mystery Manor: Hidden Adventure HD Review

It’s a fun game to play for a while but the items needed to enjoy more than just the first few rooms become extreamly scarce unless one constantly spends real money (I.e. in-app purchases) to buy the game items. The designers do make it possible to request items from other users but what I just found out (because they don’t explain this) is that only some of the gifts requested from you are ‘free’. The other gifts requested from you will come from your inventory of items. (Please note, I’m not talking about the “wall gifts”. I’m taking about the request for gifts directly sent to other players). That’s the last straw for me. In the game some items very scarce, so one has to buy them or request them from others - but the game does not indicate that you are sometimes giving away an item from your inventory when you are responding to a gift request. It’s just too frustrating, the designers are just too greedy, and it just stops being fun when you realize that it’s all designed to make you spend more and more money.
