Thoughtful app but needs improvement – Juno Connect: Jupyter Client Review

This is a thoughtful and beautiful interface to Jupyter notebooks, with a few significant limitations and usability setbacks that need to be improved. I use this app almost every day, so I will be sure to update this review as the app improves. Strengths: ? View and edit Jupyter Notebooks. ? Easily connect to your remote Jupyter server. ? Clean, modern, and touch-friendly design. ? Escape key remapping. Weaknesses: ? There is no way to search the text or code in your notebook. This functionality is limited to Jupyter’s “find and replace” dialog, which itself is limited to the one cell which is currently selected. ? The Jupyter functionality is limited to Notebooks — you can’t open or edit other files, such as text files or python files. ? Risky keyboard shortcuts, e.g. pressing `d` anytime your cursor is outside of a cell will delete a cell (thankfully `cmd-z` brings it back), `i` will interrupt your notebook (no undo), `0` will restart it (no undo). In other words... there are some trade-offs, and neither Juno nor Safari are fully capable Jupyter interfaces on an iPad. Currently I use Juno to edit my notebooks, and switch to Coda to edit any text or python files they depend on, as well as to get better shell access to the server.
