Only a frustration – iStreamTunes Review

Update: 18 Dec. While it worked in a rough way at first, trying to use this app has been nothing but frustrating and it usually doesn't work at all. Even with the 17 Dec update it is incredibly unstable. They really should advertise this as a beta product. I give up!! Previous comments: I could not get the Streamtunes iphone app to work at all at first. It was only via the Safari browser interface I initially got it to work, and this after about an hour of trying to figure out how to get the right port on my router to be open to allow for the iphone to connect to the media server you install to go along with Streamtunes. In using the Safari interface to view the songs, videos etc.. in my itunes library, you cannot search by artist or album... it's one big, long list of songs... so if you have a big library of songs.... trying to get to the right song is a pain, and there seemed to be no option to play an entire album. Just individual songs (or videos). Although you can stream playlists. Next day, I tried the iPhone app again... Not sure why, but now it works. The app interface is slicker than the safari interface. Still lists songs as one big long list, but with the app you can search by key word. Best way to use the app is by making playlists on iTunes that you can then use the app to stream. One feature that's somewhere between neat and weird is the monitor feature, which allows you to see what is on your home computers screen in real time. So it didn't work at first, now it does - but no idea what caused it to start working. Overall an okay app that is confusing to set up. Would like to be able to sort songs by artist or album.
