Requires Jetpack and WordPress.com connection ? – WooCommerce Review

I was excited for this new app for the real time order notifications, however it was a huge disappointment the second I realized it requires your store to be hooked up to Jetpack/WordPress.com. Why must Automattic force Jetpack on us?
