Nowhere near as fun as used to be..... – Topps® WWE SLAM: Card Trader Review

Other reviewers have touched on it, but I will as well. I am from Day One on the app. I have invested a lot of time effort into what passes for my collection. It used to be getting lucky, making the right trade, and having a network of friends was the right way to make sure you got the cards you wanted. Now is not the case. A little over a year ago, Diamonds were introduced. Other than a one-time ‘gift’ of 100 Diamonds, the only way to obtain them was with actual real world money. Yes, Topps did continue with the daily login coins, and those could be used to obtain packs of cards, Diamonds were the new thing. New cards/sets were released where the only way to get them was by spending Diamonds. There were a few times you could use coins that you earned free, but the odds were stated as either 1:3 packs using 100 Diamonds or 1:100 or higher using 5000 or more coins. Some were even higher, and I have seen upwards of 1:1000 odds. Just today, a set was released. 100 Diamonds and you had a 1:3 chance of the card. 600 Diamonds and you were guaranteed the card, but they only released 500 of the card. Card was “gone” in under 5 minutes. eBay scalpers has snatched up a good amount of the card, and inflated the price 3-4 times and were raking in. This is common, to see a card of a popular performer “sell” on eBay for 30-40$ or more. One of my favorites is sitting at 60$ right now, and I cannot in good sense do that. That card was released with only 25 printed. It was also released with 118 others different cards of other performers, and for only 300 Diamonds I had a 1:119 chance of getting the card I wanted. Absurd. Myself, after one more month of grace period, I am done. My cards will disappear. I have been a fan of this app, but watching it de-evolve over the last year-and-a-half has soured me. I would not recommend anyone start new with this app unless they have incredible luck and plan on spending real world money. NOBODY under 14 needs to be on here, as the need to spend actual money has become so strong it has left no string of fun in the app, and turned the trade feed into a lot of complaining and whining about how someone with a NEW Alexa Bliss New Years Eve Card with a print run of sub-100 will not accept a trade. Spend your money elsewhere, on physical things. Not here.
