Nice idea, broken game – Word Connection Review

Love the chain word concept. However, every time I miss the first guess, the game no longer recognizes my correct answer. Answered "lucky" for "ducky" and then was given the letter 'R' so next try was "rubber" instead of saying it was right, the game gives me 'Ru' so I try "Rubber." Still doesn't count but gives me "Rub." Eventually time runs out. Playing again I put in "Rubber" first try and it accepted my answer. Next round it was broken again.
