Great for Physical Therapy to Reintroduce Running – Run Trainer - Running app Review

I love the versatility of this app! As others have said, it gives you audio notifications (as you listen to your own music) as to the next step in your running training program. It’s very similar to an app I’ve in the past with one big, amazing exception... I broke my ankle 4 months ago and have finally been cleared by my physical therapist to start a walk-jog program as I get back into running. Each week I am supposed to increase the time I jog and decrease the time I walk, similar to any C25k program, only at a much, much slower progression. I love the fact that this app allows me to create running programs at the exact intervals recommended by my physical therapist. I can save each program and title them individually, which is both convenient and so helpful in my recovery. When I had asked my physical therapist beforehand if an app such as this existed, she said she didn’t know. I hope RunTrainer makes their app known to more physical therapy professionals so they can better support their patients. My only negative critique, similar to what others have mentioned, is that I’m not sure how accurate the GPS/mileage is (or kilometers—they have both units of measure). When I first played around with the app, from the comfort of my own couch, it measured that I had moved 0.1 miles during that time, when clearly I hadn’t moved much at all. I’m not sure how accurate my actual jogging mileage has been without a second device to compare. This isn’t a big deal to me, as I’m just trying to start running for longer time intervals. But this may be a very big deal to other, more serious runners. All in all, a game changer for me. Thank you!
