Close to Perfect – Cards and Castles Review

Why? Because for what it aims to be it accomplishes. It’s a fairly balanced and smooth load times (quick at finding matches) yet most matches can be immersive the better you get. The developers take risks going towards this goal. As a longtime player I saw the major updates which drastically changed the game. And honestly the change cost them players but I respected the fearlessness. The change grew on me and I appreciated the focus on its strengths. I think they could update more often and that’s why I held back a star. What they do well they should expound on. The experience during the game can be made better without a major update or a new faction. They could add more character taunts, randomize the character taunts to automatically do it sometimes so it encourages users to toy with it (i find it can help with ones strategy by making you seem more aggressive), the sounds or effects can be added. I’m not asking to slow down the game with to much. But the “sorry” button should be added back for moments when you forget to click the end turn button. These things encourage more communication between players and just add to the experience. But all in all great game. I’m not that good but I enjoy tweaking and watching my deck build.
